Heather Parry: Live’s President

Heather Parry is the president of Live Nation Productions. She started her career working at MTV when she was only 21 years old and worked there for more than a decade. She moved onto Happy Madison Productions which is owned by Adam Sandler, and worked as a producer for nearly ten years. Currently, she is involved in two documentaries featuring Lady Gaga and Puff Daddy which are available on Netflix. She has made a solid relationship with Live’s CEO, Guy Oseary and runs many of her ideas through him.

As a producer, Heather Parry is also a visionary and hopes to see many different feature biopic films about music’s most famous people including David Bowie, Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Beastie Boys and Stevie Nicks. She wants to showcase the stars and tell their real stories for the masses. She states that there are many musical artists now, so there are even more stories to voice.

Live produced Bradley Cooper’s A Star is Born which also features Lady Gaga. It came out within the same year that Lady Gaga’s biopic debuted as well called Gaga: Five Foot Two. With a vast assortment of ventures, Live Nation Productions is involved in multiple movies that will be heading to the big screen or streaming channels that feature many musical artists like Justin Timberlake, French Montana, DJ Khalid and many others.

The next project that she is looking forward to is Imagine Dragons. She enjoys working with such an array of talent from rockers, rappers and everything in between. The documentaries that she helps produce demonsrate the real side that people do not get to see every day about their favorite artist and they are then able to connect with them. Heather Parry loves what she does and brings the real issues of the stars to the ordinary viewer.

The Chainsmokers: Changing the game one dark song at a time

Over a year ago, the chainsmokers, an edm duo consisting of Drew Taggart and Alex Pall, came onto the scene with a string of dance hits such as “Closer” and “Don’t let Me Down.” The duo had met in New York several years ago, and after connecting on ideas and passion, began to work on DJing and producing music. Taggart always said that the two had a drive to change the EDM scene and create a sound that no one else had. There first hits fell short of this; as it was important to make hits that would gain attention and put them on the map. This worked well as the chainsmokers gained recognition with hits such as “Selfie,” “Don’t Let Me Down,” and “Roses.

However, it wasn’t until 2016, that the chainsmokers released there soon to be biggest hit: Closer. Closer took an interesting turn from the other songs; it featured Taggart joining Halsey in singing in the song. This in many ways marked a turn in their sound, and popularity. Taggard and Pall reached unrivaled success in the 2016-2017 year, as their sound went less straight dance music, and more vocal pop with EDM elements. Though it has been only a year since the Chainsmokers revamped their sound with Closer, and Paris; they are now back at changing their sound.

According to Drew Taggart, they had always wanted to create a sound and message that resonates with the current status of culture and society. It was for this reason, that the duo released “Sad Boy” and “You Owe Me”, these songs take a very different turn from anything previously recorded. The songs are dark, more lyrical, and go for a less EDM sound. According to Taggart, this sound is their reaction to the status of culture and sentiments inside of America and the world. The duo have a passionate belief that music is meant to symbolize society and people’s feelings; this new sound, though unpopular with some long time fans, marks their attempt to discuss and show the state of affairs inside of America.

Alex Pall: The Chainsmokers

The Chainsmokers keep getting bigger and bigger and as they are growing, their audience is growing with them. Alex Pall is one half of the iconic dance music along with Andrew Taggart. Alex Pall has produced hits like “Closer”, “Roses”, and “Don’t Let Me Down” with the Chainsmokers.

When Alex Pall was growing up, he took on DJing as a hobby while in New York City. As time passed Pall realized that his hobby was consuming his life and he wanted to turn his passion into his full-time career. Alex Pall spoke with his manager about his intent and at that point, he was introduced to Taggart. The pair immediately hit it off when they met and started working together as the Chainsmokers. Pall quit his job and Taggart moved all the way from Maine to New York City.

Unlike most dance musicians, the Chainsmokers have begun singing on their tracks alongside using vocalists. Furthermore, Taggart and Alex Pall are heavily involved in the songwriting process. On the songs that they don’t write completely by themselves, they work with the songwriters and either contribute their thoughts and ideas or guide them in the process to ensure the songs truly fit the pair as people. Alex Pall and Taggart are bringing emotion and heart into a genre that is usually just filled with heavy bass drops and beats. The DJ duo want to take something different to the genre that’s about more than just being young and carefree like the other songs being produced today. (See: The Chainsmokers New Song Video)

Recently, the Chainsmokers duo had the opportunity to work with Halsley on the hit song Closer. Halsey is one of the hottest artists right now and Alex Pall was excited to get the chance to work with her. Closer features Taggart on vocals as well as Halsey.

Alex Pall and the Chainsmokers’ fans can be found around the globe from the United States to Europe and even South Africa.
