Steve Ritchie is the CEO (Chief Operating Officer)of Papa John’s Pizza. The company is a franchise with more than 120,000 franchise owners and corporate members worldwide. The team members are the backbone of a company that works very hard to provide the best product to its consumers. They are the same people that support the communities and neighborhood where they operate.
In light of the less than desirable publicity, Mr. Ritchie has been visiting the cities of Detroit, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles and Atlanta and spoke with the team members that operate restaurants in those cities. His conversations were based on how the company can do things better. He wanted to know about the interactions restaurant owners and workers have had with customers after losing a great deal of trust.
Despite being difficult conversations, Steve Ritchie believes restaurant owners and workers are committed to moving the company forward and regaining the trust that was lost. The restaurants are part of each community in which they are located and are committed to that community. Restaurants are very involved within their neighborhood by supporting schools, youth sports and other charitable causes.
By continuing to listen to the owners and workers, as well as the consumers, the company will better be able to to adapt to change and grow and become an even better company. Everyone recognizes and acknowledges that the company is not about just one person. It is about all team members. It is necessary to work together as a team for the benefit of all including franchise owners, corporate members and those that work together as a team for the benefit of all including franchise owners, corporate members and those that work in the individual restaurants.
Steve Ritchie Papa Johns is also aware that conversations about ways to improve have to be followed up with action otherwise it is nothing more than just talk. The success of the actions will support the level of success the company experiences along with the commensurate growth of the company. It is a process that must continue if the company is to continue to thrive. More transparency and accountability has been implemented into the structure of the company and both will go a long way to the betterment and improvement of the company.
